Year Page

As a result of school closures, we will now be supporting your child with their learning and development at home. We have already sent out Home Learning packs to some children but if your child was absent from school then a Home Learning pack will have been sent to you directly.

From Monday 23rd March, we will be using Tapestry to send out regular messages and daily activities for Literacy, Maths and other curriculum areas. Please upload any pictures, videos and observations of your child’s learning and development as usual but also now in relation to our daily activities. We can then give you advice and further support on your child’s next steps.

The website Twinkl can now be accessed for free, currently for one month. Please set up access via this website address:  www.twinkl.co.uk/offer and enter the code UKTWINKLHELPS. We will be using this website as a reference point for some resources to support your child.

Below, we have posted an example of a daily timetable and ideas for an overview of learning for the next few weeks. If you have any concerns or further questions, please feel free to contact us via Tapestry.

We appreciate that this is a very different learning environment and we will really miss seeing all the children together in school. However, we are here to continue to support you and your child through these changing and difficult times and hope to be able to see them all again very soon.  Our love and prayers are with you and your families.

Thank you for your continued support.

Welcome to Reception.

This is our joint area where you will find the latest news, letters, curriculum overviews and key dates plus other key information.
The children are racing up our 'Reading Race track.' Keep reading regularly at home and make sure signatures are written in the reading diaries and brought into school daily. Once signed up, Bug Club books can be counted as well as reading books but there is only a maximum of 7 signatures collected each week.

Please remember!
Hair bands/bows should be red or navy and should be small.
Please save Jojo bows for the weekend!
Supporting your child at home

Phonics

We follow the Letters and Sounds scheme supported by the Jolly Phonics actions.
In Reception, the children will be learning Phase 2 and 3 sounds and actions.

The links below will support your child to say each Phase 2 phoneme (sound) correctly using the Jolly Phonics action. Phase 3 sounds introduce digraphs (two letters that make one sound) and trigraphs (three letters which make one sound).

Jolly Phonics: Sounds and Actions. (Phase 2).

All About Digraphs: Jolly Phonics (Phase 3).
(Please note: These videos focus on the Jolly Phonics sounds and actions. Following the Letters and Sounds scheme, the 'ou', 'ue' and 'ie' sounds in the video are taught in Year One. In Reception, we teach the digraph 'ow' and the trigraph 'igh' instead. We also teach 'ur' alongside the 'er' sound).
