Overview

To enrich the PSHE curriculum and support our children's wellbeing we follow SCARF's PSHE scheme of work. SCARF adopts the ‘Growth Mindset’ approach and supports our children in promoting positive behaviour, mental health, wellbeing, resilience and achievement – giving them everything they need to meet the new Relationships Education and Health Education requirements.

There's a proven link between pupils' health and wellbeing, and their academic progress. Crucial skills and positive attitudes developed through comprehensive Personal, Social, Health and Economic education (PSHE) are critical to ensuring children are effective learners.

SCARF provides a whole-school approach to building these essential foundations – crucial for children to achieve their best, academically and socially.

Trick Box

At Christ the King School we follow the Trick Box programme. Trick Box is a whole school personal development and emotional management resource for Key Stages 1 and 2. Designed to fit alongside other PSHE and Social and Emotional Learning this simple, fun and highly effective programme not only gives children the personal skills they need to be successfully autonomous and resilient but also polishes the skills of teachers and parents.
